Duties

  • Sends statements/invoices to customers and posts financial transactions to accounting system.
  • Prepare for review cash receipt and credit card transactions.
  • Posts revenues by verifying and entering transactions and local deposits.
  • Resolves collections by examining customer payment plans, payment history, credit line, coordinating contact with collections department.
  • Assists in maintaining internal accounting controls to provide management with reasonable assurance to safeguard assets against loss from unauthorized use of or disposition of Tribal funds or Federal and State funds under Tribal control.
  • Reliable and legible financial records for preparation of financial statements and asset accountability.
  • Maintain and secures comprehensive files and source documents.
  • Maintains finance records retention in compliance with Tribal, Federal, State, and granting agencies.
  • Post Deposits.
  • Data entry.
  • Assists in the annual audit as required.
  • Accepts, documents, and reconciles clinic payments and deposits.
  • Prepares and submits gas tax refunds to the State and Federal authorities.
  • Processes monthly water shut-off notices to community users and lock outs for mini storage.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • AA degree in accounting preferred or High School Diploma/GED and accounting experience.
  • Proven work experience in accounting industry.
  • Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • General Math skills.
  • Reconciling cash receipts and deposits
  • Analyzing financial records for accuracy.
  • Ability to read, write, follow written and oral instructions.
  • Be a team player and work independently.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, procedures, and concepts.
  • Must demonstrate extensive knowledge of Windows, Excel, and Word computer programs.
  • Prior experience with computerized accounting systems.
  • Ability to work effectively and courteously with all staff and customers contacted in daily work.
  • Establish cooperative work relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
  • Excellent customer service skills and high regard for confidentiality.
  • Good time management skills and must complete tasks assigned in a timely manner.
  • Ability to conduct daily business in an expedient and timely manner.
  • Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Willing to Cross Train.
  • Possess a valid Nevada Driver’s License.
  • Pass a Pre-Employment drug screen and background investigation.
  • Be able to lift 40 pounds or more.
