  • Use prescription to ensure frames, lenses and/or contacts ordered properly.
  • Order patient frames, lenses, and contacts.
  • Deliver and fit patient with finished eyewear.
  • Order Optometry supplies. Ensure supplies are properly stocked and available for Optometrist.
  • Meet regularly with lab representatives to select current frames.
  • Responsible for the inventory of frames from the various labs.
  • Compile a monthly reconciliation of inventory to supervisor.
  • Assist patient to choose an appropriate frame.
  • Inform patient of total amount due when ordering.
  • Contact patient when orders can be picked up.
  • Follow billing policies and procedures.
  • Understand and comply with HIPAA/privacy rules and regulations.
  • Compile LogistiCare reports for Medicaid reimbursement.
  • Help patients select the correct frames and lenses for their prescription.
  • Order prescription glasses and contact lenses for the patient.
  • Make follow up appointments for patients.
  • Make adjustments to the frames when the customer collects their glasses.
  • Pre-screening tests such as retinal imaging and adding results to the patients’ health chart.
  • Submits billing claims for Medicaid Ride reimbursements.
  • Enters Optometry coding into patients charts for billers and coders to complete claims.
  • Make sure all equipment is serviced and up to date with appropriate service vendors.
  • Enters purchase orders into financial system for payment to vendors, following procurement policy.
  • Enter appropriate documentation into the patient chart for Diabetic screening requirements.
  • Acquire good standing relationships with outside vendors for stock supply of frames and trial lenses.
  • Able to use office equipment of phone, fax, copy, and able to set up equipment for doctor as well as close down equipment after the doctor is done for the day.
  • Ordering of hard wear parts for glasses and supplies that Optometrist may need for patients\ Equipment.


  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalency required.
  • Medical office experience working with medical computer programs preferred.
  • Two years billing experience required.
  • Independent thinker, with ability to analyze.
  • Detail oriented with good math skills and accuracy a must.
  • Good customer service and organizational skills required.
  • Experience working with computers.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality at all times, be honest and responsible.
  • Able to communicate well verbally and written.
  • A team player.
  • Valid Nevada driver’s license.
  • Able to lift 40 lbs.
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen and complete background check.
